The Naga Center joyfully introduces you to Goi, our incredible Thai language and Thai Cultural Series instructor. Goi is a native Thai speaker with over ten years of experience teaching language in international schools in her home town of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Her style is light hearted and patient as she brings the smiles of Thailand into the classroom and guides you through learning this beautiful language. Goi excells as an instructor to both adults and children.

Children's Thai Language
Students learn through games, songs, art and storytelling in this fun and spirited class. Class size is kept small for maximum personal attention. This is a truly engaging class that gently guides children to begin speaking Thai while having a wonderful time. The fall class is continued from the summer session, hence new students joining the class should have some foundational Thai such as knowing their 1 thru 10 numbers, basic colors and some animals.
10 Week series meets once a week
Pre-requisite - must have beginning reading and writing skills
Age- 6 to 12
Cost - $125

This 10 week class will meet every Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Beginning Thai Language
This 10 week class focuses on basic conversation skills, sentence structure and tones. Goi's skillful teaching style will have you conversing in Thai rapidly.
Pre-requisite - none
Cost - $140 for 10 week series

Intermediate Thai Language
Students with a foundational understanding of Thai language are invited to expand their ability to communicate in this fun and supportive class environment. In this 10 week class we will advance our conversation skills and begin to familiarize ourselves with the Thai alphabet.

Pre-requisite - none - students may self evaluate to determine if they feel ready to go beyond a beginning class. Should students enrolled in the Intermediate class find that they are not getting their needs met they may switch at any time to the Beginning class.
Cost - $140 for 10 week series

Fall session begins September 23rd. Class meets Tuesday evenings from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Advanced Thai Language
In this class we will expand our conversation skills with added class dialog and focus on reading and writing for an in-depth understanding of Thai language. A foundational understanding of the Thai alphabet is helpful.
Cost - $150

Tourist Thai and Business Thai
We will from time to time offer special Thai language classes for those planning a trip to Thailand who do not need to become fluent in the language but would like to have basic communication and etiquette skills for either general tourism or business relations. We are happy to create a class for individuals and groups. Please Contact us to schedule.

Language Classes are taught at 2926 N.E. Flanders St. (3 blocks north of Burnside). You must be registered for a class to attend

Thai Cultural Series

Our Thai Cultural Series meets the first Sunday of each month for 6 months. Together we will explore Thai cooking, Buddhism and arts, focusing on a different theme each month. This series can be taken by anyone with a desire to learn more about Thai culture and is a perfect preparation for a trip to Thailand.
Cost: $179.00

Gently Guided Trip to Thailand

Journey with us to the "Land of Smiles" for two weeks of adventure, exploration and insight. We will stay in guesthouses, journey by plane, train and boat as we visit bustling cities, temples, mountain villages and sandy beaches. The tone of the journey is set by the participants. Focus can be on anything from Thai cooking to Buddhist meditation to relaxation and play - or a mixture of it all. Your guides will be Goi, a native of Thailand, and Nephyr, director of The Naga Center. Our group will be kept small in order to allow for spontaneity Details of this trip are still in the planning stage but it's tentative dates are December 27 through January 9th. Thai Movie Night

Once a month the Naga Center hosts Thai movie night. To be notified of when Thai movie night will be in upcoming months, and what movie will be showing, join our mailing list . Thai movie night is free, but a donation basket for Thai charities will await your loving contribution. So grab some Thai food to go, and come hunker down with some pillows and enjoy the show.
