Cold and Flu Season
Preventing, Mitigating, and Treating Seasonal Icks With Traditional Medicine Using Daily Habits, Herbs & Cupping
A one day Zoom class with Jim Madras and Naj Jacobsen
Sunday December 15
We – Naj (Naga Center) and Jim (Natural Arts Center) – put together this special one-day class to focus on building your toolbox for cold & flu season. Straight-forward, time-tested, readily accessible and easily applied strategies & tools to help ward off the seasonal ick. Or to deal with the ick if it gets ya.
This class will be divided into three sections:
“I want to avoid getting sick” → strategies and practices to keep you in top form and functional.
“I might be coming down with something” → identifying and dealing with the first signs of imbalance.
“Yup, I’m sick” → next steps to minimize the suffering & swiftly getting back to balance.
In addition to a general review of Thai medical theory and a lovely chat about the immune system, we’ll fill the toolbox with:
A couple of different cupping & scraping “recipes”.
Some helpful topicals to have on hand.
Thai herbal compresses.
Herbs for steaming.
Some easily concocted internal formulas.
The cupping & scraping portion of the program is for folks experienced with those particular tools. If you’d like to participate in the class without knowing the basics of cupping or scraping…know that you’ll need some basic instruction before putting those particular tools to use.
