Ongoing Online Guided Study Group
About
Students who successfully complete The Naga Center's online Thai Medical Theory for Bodyworkers course, demonstrating strong participation in the forum in which the class takes place, are invited to join our ongoing study group forum.
The study group forum operates on the same host platform as the Theory class, so the environment will be familiar; however, the study group forum is a far more casual and student driven community. The more you participate, the more vibrant and worthwhile it will be. Nephyr will not be posting regular lessons, but she does check in with the forum pretty much daily to answer any questions, or to help guide conversations. And yes, she does post the occasional random lesson and every now and then even an assignment.
The idea is that this is a place to connect with other Thai bodywork practitioners who, like you, have taken their studies to the next level. There really aren't very many people in the world who are studying Thai healing arts to the degree that you all are, so it's important to have community. Overall the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.
Newcomers will find a deep well of questions and answers, lessons and shared experiences from those who have been on the forum for some time now (and some who are no longer there). There is much to be mined from spending time exploring the conversations that have come before; conversations that can at any moment be re-awoken by you.
Before You Join
Here is the deal: While the atmosphere is calm, and the study group doesn't require nearly the time commitment that the Theory class required, you are expected to participate.
You cannot stop and start participation. Because lessons remain here whether you are around one month or not, they are there for you when you tune back in. So if you go away for a month, and you stop paying, then when you come back, you get the benefits that all the others have paid for. So for fairness, it is required that people are either in or out, but not fluctuating between the two. This is also to maintain our sense of strong community.
When you join you agree to an initial commitment of six months. After this, people can continue on month to month, but if someone quits the forum and then wants to re-join, I will ask for the six month commitment again. This is to discourage ducking in and out, for the reasons above.
